No One Who Ever Wanted A Drill Wanted A Drill

They wanted a hole.

How can you entice your potential customer with information to gain their attention and start a relationship?

What is an inexpensive way that allows you to be creative, create your own material and offer free information like an expert would to their potential customers?

Create a White Paper.

White Papers for Network Marketers are quite different from other White Papers you may have heard about.

Any small business could include  White Papers as a part of their marketing strategy.

Your intent for a White Paper is to offer free information to assist your potential customer by providing them helpful information that is valuable to them.

The drill I was referring to in my title is about where your focus should be to create an effective White Paper that will resonate with your potential customers. Therefore, if you sell drills, advertise information about  making holes, not about drills.

This is what a White Paper isn’t;

·     An exhaustive manual procedure style document,

·     100's and 100's of pages in length,

·     Requires 50 hours to write,

·     Requires 'special' formatting software.

Here are some tips to help you create your first White Paper.

  •  Create a list of 2 to 4 things you want your customer to know how to do as a result of reading your white paper. Then capture how to tell them. If you have more than 4 points you want to cover, group your points based on their subject and you now has the base to create another White Paper.
  • Think of an enticing title, like any form of copywriting the title is important to make your White Paper attractive to read. If you had anad that could only apply the title and your phone number, what title would grab people’s attention?
  • When writing the introduction you need to be in tune with the conversation that is inside the reader’s head right now. What are they irritated about? What are they worried about?
  • What is your ‘call to action’ for your White Paper?  Make sure you add it to the end of the White Paper. This will help the effectiveness of your White Paper.

Most importantly a White Paper is not a sales catalogue or a blatant promotion of your product, your prospect will ditch your White Paper quick smart if they fell they are being sold to. (Keep this in mind when your thinking about the call to action.)

You can use a White Paper as a free offer if a potential prospect provides their name and email address or you can add it to a product your selling or add it to your auto responders as a free gift.

Good luck, feel free to share with me your White Paper. I have recently created a White Paper for another website of mine, I will share my next one with this website.

I would appreciate your feedback about this blog post about White Papers. Do you think I made the benefits of a White Paper clear for a Network Marketer?

Dedicated to your success,

Alison Bova

How Do You Flip Your Sales Funnel to Maximise Your Sales?

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 6:43 AM Comments comments (0)

Flip it.

Yep, that’s it, all you need to do is flip.

Sometimes I get over excited and not explain clearly, ok then…

Watch this video from Seth Godin called “How to Flip the Sales Funnel’ and then continue reading…. (If you don’t watch it, it may not make sense)…

You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

I enjoy learning from Seth, he has a unique perspective with lessons that are simple but powerful.

If you own an online business and you may be thinking…

‘What tools can I use to maximise my time with each customer to make them become an advocate of my business?’

Autoresponders can help you build enough rapport with your customers that helps you to increase your sales and become your business advocates.

How do autoresponders work?

You can have a form directly attached to your website or have the connection through your lead page.

When the prospect places their details in your lead page, you can collate their email address and send them emails on a regular basis.

I use Aweber for my autoresponders. I wanted to post it because if you select it and scroll down to the bottom part of the screen, you will see they do more than provide your business autoresponders.

In summary, the natural progression of your leads turning into sales is the shape as a funnel. Autoresponders will help you gain more sales from customers you have already created a relationship with.

Seth’s concept based in this is very much in line with the Attraction Marketing principles. Provide your customers enough value to help fulfil their needs and they will become an advocate of your business.

Seth also talks about sites like Flickr, Digg and Squidoo and how creating posts about your interests will draw people with similar interests to you.

On a similar topic here is my Squidoo lens linking lead pages to autoresponders vs having just a website. The lens is called 'What is going to help you create long term sales? Landing Page VS Branding Website'.

Have you considered creating your own autoresponders?

If your working with an affiliate, have they provided you with autoresponders to use with your marketing campagins?

Don’t leave it any longer, you don’t want to get burned bygetting over taxed because you have not acknowledge officially as a business, captured all your expenses or income.

Seek advice, I suggest not going for a sole trader business set up and seek into starting a private corporation instead. It will help you protect your personal assets because it sees your business as a separate entity to your personal finances.

'What's One Of The First Steps You Can't Afford To Get Wrong When Creating Your New Web Based Business?'

Posted on November 27, 2010 at 4:15 AM Comments comments (0)

I like to compare the Internet to the sea. A vast space filled with millions of fishies (ok, my inner child is close to the surface) going on their day to day lives. What you need to know about the internet is like the Sea there are millions of people online every hour of every day and this number of people will continue to increase over time BUT if you don?t position your website and personal brand correctly, you will not get enough amount of traffic to your website or you provide someone else the opportunity to use your brand which means no sales and the end of your business.

At Start Your Own Web Business Blog, I think its really,really, really important to firstly create your goals and then create the foundation of your new business;

1.    Who is your customer?

2.    What are they looking for?

3.    Specifically, what are they typing into Google,to find what they want.

Once you can answered these questions, you have the base of your business set up to catch free leads that turn into valuable traffic for your business.

1. Who is your customer?

This is important because if your too general you won?t attract anyone?s attention and you will  appear mediocre. The result of knowing your customer will help you to create effective marketing campaigns.

It may be easier to consider if you have qualities you would want in your customer?s profile.

Here are examples of questions to help you refine your ideal customer;

Is the majority of your customers? male of female?

What age group?

Where does your customer live?

How much money do they currently make per year?

Do they have children?

Are they married?

Do they have investments?

Do they like to travel?

What are their hobbies?

What makes them happy, what type of lifestyle do they have?

Do they worry about money?

2. What are they looking for?

What concerns or worries do they have that keep them up at night that your product or service will help solve?

This question is the million dollar question because if you can understand what your customer needs and provide solutions to those needs, they will be seeking you out, you will help them to build trust in your brand and they will buy from you.

I urge you to take your time understanding this need the product or service you want to provide will help.

If you have any questions please place a comment or send mean email at livebeyondninetofive@gmail.com.

So by the third step you know who your ideal customers is,clarified what their concerns are and what they are looking for and now you need to think about how many ways you can describe what they search for in Google and access the competition of those keywords.

The words or phrases you will be testing are known as keywords. By finding what your customers are looking for, it helps you to place your website and content in the forefront aka the top 1 spot of google to gain free traffic to your website.

We are going to use my husband?s website www.davebova.com/ as an example.

Dave's  a musician.

If Dave wants to promote his gigs on the internet for free, here's how I would approach keyword selection.

Quickly, I will create an ideal fan or customer for Dave.

This person would be a male, 30 years old and over who likesto go out to live gigs with his partner or friends regularly. Lives in theSydney area and likes flamingo, Latin style acoustic music. His main form ofentertainment is going to live gigs and he likes a lot of music with the focuson guitars. He may also play the guitar himself.

Let?s call this person John.

John is interested in going to a gig,here is a list of keywords I think he would type into Google;

·     Live gigs Sydney

·     Live gig latin guitar duo Sydney

·     Live gig guitar Sydney

·     Free gig Sydney

·     Free gig Saturday Sydney

·     Live gigs latin Sydney

·     Live gig latin cbd, Sydney

·     Dave Bova live gigs Sydney

·     Dave Carr live gigs Sydney

·     Dave Bova live gig Saturday Sydney

·     Dave Bova live gig Saturday Cronulla

·     Dave Bova band live gig Friday

·     Dave Bova band live gig Wollongong

·     Dave Bova band live gig Sunday

·     Dave Bova guitar duo band live gig

·     Dave Bova guitar carnival live gig

·     Guitar Carnival live gig

My aim is to capture as many different types of ways John would enter the keywords into Google to locate Dave?s music and/or live gig.

I have added different locations (Cronulla, Wollongong), different days (Friday, Sunday) and variations to hisbands name (Dave Carr, Guitar Carnival and Dave Bova guitar duo).

Once I have an exhaustive list (The above is only very small, please continue to create as many options as you can, you will find out soon, why its necessary).

Now I need to access how competitive these keywords are. What your looking for is the total amount of searches and the amount of paid ads to the side of the search results.

Here is a video I have created to demonstrate this exercise.

You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

The video only provides two examples, I would go through this exercise for all the keyword combinations I could think of and access what would be the most suitable.

To wrap up, you now have a customer profile of your ideal customer, you know what their concerns are and how your product or service can help them and you know have a list of keywords that you can use that have the right level of competition.

STay tuned for more information on why your potential customer concerns are important to you and your business, the meaning of quality traffic and tthe purpose of your website vs your landing page.

Be bold, take action.

Carbon Copy Pro Master Marketing Event Las Vegas Review

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 2:55 AM Comments comments (0)

Drum roll please…

it was time for the Carbon Copy Pro Master Marketing Event at the Venetian Casino,Las Vegas on the 20th of November 2010.

This is a pic of The Venetian, a beautiful hotel if your ever going to visit Las Vegas.

I was looking forward to attending the event and meeting the successful entrepreneurs that have used Carbon Copy Pro’s teachings to create alifestyle that only few experience and many only dream about.

Some of the highlights from the event;

Carbon Copy Pro’s new alliance with Simon Sinek.

This is me with Simon at the Carbon Copy Pro Master Marketing Event After Party.

Simon’s speech was all about inspiring leadership. Simon provides everyone who comes across his path a very important question. ‘Do you know what your why is?’ and also how to communicate your why to inspire loyalty to your brand. I look forward to reading his book called ‘Start With Why’.  I believe to become an internet marketer requires a different type of inspiration in leadership in comparison to other industries. I think Simon’s approach to leadership resonates well with Carbon Copy Pro’s vision and culture.

Loyal 9 Revolution is a group of entrepreneurs who at the last Carbon Copy Pro Mastering Marketing Event met and from that meeting started to Mastermind together which lead them to create a new team called Loyal 9 Revolution. I wouldn’t say I am a natural at master minding and networking. So this groups presentation on masterminding provided some helpful tips I would like to share with you.

Here are some tips I picked up;

·    The most dangerous feeling for any entrepreneur is the feeling of being alone.

·     You don’t seek out people to motivate you, you seek out a group to connect and help problem solve and   build new skills together.

·     If you make yourself accountable for your actions the group will take care of itself.

·     Start your master minding group with ten people.

·     Find common goals and visions to ensure you are suited to each other.

·     Have a biweekly meetings and select someone to chair the meeting. This will help the meeting stay on time and keep everyone on track.

Have you tried to mastermind with other entrepreneurs? Did you have a certain structure to help clarify what roles were needed?

Would you like to join a new group I will be creating?

Stay tuned for more information on the Start Your Own Web Business Mastermind Group.I'll put some more information and let you know how you can become a part of it.

Wealth Masters International M2 Las Vegas Review

Posted on November 23, 2010 at 10:57 PM Comments comments (0)

This is a picture of a Batman Credit Card Ireceived at the Wealth Masters International M2 Las Vegas conference last week.I’ll explain more about why I got this Batman Credit Card within this post.

When it comes to all things financial, I have always felt like I have mountain of debt that seems to be like the elephant in the corner of the room.

The burden of the debt and the limitations it places on my life create feelings of frustration, resentment and disappointment.

Have you ever felt something similar?

What did you do to get out of this situation?

I knew it was time to seek new information to help me think like an entrepreneur and investor instead of the person who just wishes they could change the situation and does nothing about it.

I don’t want to get all serious on you, personal finances, taxes and the world economy are not topics I consider fun or sexy. :o)

I attended the Wealth Masters International (WMI) M2 conference that was held at the Paris Hotel Casino in Las Vegas and I was very impressed.

Let me know if you have heard about this conference before or if you have attended the conference yourself.

This conference what said to “position you to capitalize on the emerging economy with opportunities and knowledge you won’t find anywhere else’.

One of my favourite speakers from the event that I know could help you and I become more effective entrepreneurs was Joe Sugarman.

DSC_5154 This is a pic of me and Joe Sugarman.

‘Once called the “Mail Order Maverick” by The New York Times,Joe is the ground breaker who introduced the pocket calculator, the cordless phone and moved twenty million pairs of BluBlockers. I was told by a fellow colleague that he considers Joe Sugarman as a ‘Copywriting God’.

Watch this video aboutBluBlockers.

Can you imagine selling twenty million of anything, holy moly. Joe was great, his stories as expected from a master Copywriter was very enjoyable and I learnt a lot. The Batman Credit Card was given by Joe about a failed business deal that left Joe Sugarman with over 100,000 of these Batman Credit cards with no legal right to sell them. The Batman Credit Card is a timely reminder that failing shouldn’t stop you from pursing your goals.

If you’re an entrepreneur that needs to create your own classified ads, articles, videos, blog posts Iurge you to find a copy of Joe’s book ‘The Adweek Copywriting Handbook’ I look forward to sharing the insights I have learnt with you soon.

Be bold, take action.

To Fill Something That Seemed Forever Empty | Start Your Own Web Business

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 1:35 AM Comments comments (2)

Hi,

I am in Las Vegas at the moment at the M2 Wealth Masters International Conference at the Paris Hotel. I would love to post you pictures right now but the camera and I are having a bit of an argument and I am not winning :o)

I feel very fortunate because I feel like I am in the right place at the right time. I am learning lots about the economy, health and wisdom from some of America’s most successful entrepreneurs.

I am very fortunate to be surrounded by like minded and successful people.

What are your views on the pursuit to gain more knowledge?

After my first day here at the conference, I learnt so much that I was quite overwhelmed and emotional, after spending a great time with my colleagues  I went up to my room to reflect on what I learnt and what was part of the trigger for wanting to be here in the first place.

I thought back to my childhood, I spent a lot of time at my grandmothers place. My mother and father  work very hard, so my Grandmother used to pick my brother and I up from school, feed us dinner and take care of us till my mother come to pick us up  to go home. Very similar story to what a lot of people do now. I remember my father was so tired he basically was off limits, you couldn’t get much of a conversation out of him. To be fair, he always looked exhausted. He was a truck driver at the time. If I was thirsty I would go to our fridge, I always remembered opening the door and there was only a few drinks and items in there. Nothing much to drink, I would drink water  or go without

I was recently  at my parents place for my Dad’s birthday, I opened the fridge to return  the cake and the fridge was how I remembered it, close to empty.  My parents may just choose to freeze a lot of their food  but it made me sick to my stomach. For me, this represents how much you can achieve by swapping time for money, it was a rut they will never get out off. I made a vow to do what it takes to learn how I can become an entrepreneur, to take responsibility for my own wealth so my fridge will always have not only fresh food but organic fresh food.

I think  after my first day at the conference, I felt I had made a substantial shift, that I was making the choice of acquiring knowledge to help me change my circumstances

I am not ashamed of where I come from, far from it.

I believe you can’t change your past but you have the power to change your future.

I hope you have put some big goals in place and have chosen a book to buy and read.

I look forward to learning about your goals.

Be bold, take action.

Self Employed and Rich Pt 7

Posted on November 11, 2010 at 8:23 AM Comments comments (0)

Day 7: “Nine Keys to Choosing the Right Company — a Company That Can Provide $1,000-$100,000 A Month Residual Income in Less than 12 Months”.

Online businesses are no different to normal brick and mortar businesses.

If you do your due diligence and follow a simple game plan, you’ll find a business that is the right fit for you. Here are the crucial questions you need answers to…

An Unselfish Mission: Is the Company involved in any charities or programs to help others? Is the company doing something to benefit others in the future? Do they understand the universal principal of “what goes around comes around” or are they just in it for a quick buck? You’ve got to have a mission that puts the success of others first. Remember, helping other people to get what they want is the key to getting what you want. At CCPro, our goal is to help 100 people become millionaires within the next three years, and we’re on track to reach that goal. Plus CCPro assists a number of charities. Look at the leadership of the company. Are the leaders people of integrity? A Go-Ahead Industry: Direct Sales via Network Marketing. No other business model offers so much potential with so few barriers to entry (like start-up costs).

A Fair Compensation Plan: Direct Sales rules, but only if it has a residual income based compensation plan. Stay away from the ‘two-up’ compensation plan found in most direct sales companies. This compensation plan is not fair and does not harbor team spirit because your over-rides on partners is limited to their first two customers.

Off-course, “fair” means different things to different people but the bottom line is that if you are going to be marketing a product for commission, you want to be earning a high commission bonus upfront as well as a residual income on the back end. Most compensation plans either have high upfront income and low residuals, or the other way round, with low upfront income and high residuals.

You need to find a company with an equal balance of the two.

Why is this so important when searching for a home-based business? When you start out in a new business, unless you have a great deal of capital behind you to “tide you over”, you will need to make high upfront commissions. Because otherwise you will find it impossible to build momentum.

Products That Are In Demand & Can Stand-Alone: The long term profitability and viability of any company will be determined by the actual value of the products being sold. Remove the business opportunity and step back and examine the product on its own merits and ask yourself: “Would I want this product, would this product benefit me (or anyone else for that matter) if it didn’t have a business opportunity attached?” If you can’t honestly say that the product would be of value to you for its own sake then you are, in effect, selling buckets of air. And this means that the product is going to have a very short lifespan, because no one really wants it.

Forty percent of the products promoted by CarbonCopyPro are sold to product customers only, i.e. people not looking for a business opportunity. If the product being marketed won’t stand on its own, in other words if no one would buy it without the money-making incentive, then it’s not the right product.

Almost every day, new companies which are simply copying other companies spring out of nowhere.

Example: Does the world really need another weight loss or vitamin company? Are people crying out for another juice from a berry found only at the base of the Himalayas? The reality is “no”, because the marketplace is already flooded with this type of product. Plus, you’ll be competing against companies which have had products on the market for 50 or 60 years.

So what you need to find is a product that is unique and hard to copy. Because if it isn’t hard to copy, someone else will come along and try to replicate it very quickly.

A Worthy Mentor: Find a mentor. Someone you can trust. Someone who has a system. Someone who is already getting the results you’re looking for. This has to be someone who is willing to listen to your needs and actually cares about your success. He/she must also have a financial interest in your success.

Turnkey Duplicatable Marketing System: Use an Attraction Marketing system that does the sorting, selling, training, and follow-up for you. This system must not only attract (right keywords, ads etc) the right type of person (entrepreneur vs get-rich-quick lottery mentality), but be able to present the information in such a way that is clear, concise, to the point and not full of hype fluff or crazy promises.

Then figure out how to get 100-200 QUALITY targeted prospects into your marketing pipeline EACH week. (Remember, there are close to a million people looking for businesses every week and 79 million people in the USA alone plan to start their own business in the next 3-5 years!)

Up To The Minute Training: Make sure you have access to one-on-one, and group training designed to dramatically shorten your learning curve and reduce the number of variables that come with “trial and error”. The CCPro system is designed to “share” the knowledge and experience with EVERY member through the daily training calls and forum. You can listen to the top producers working their businesses LIVE, 4 days a week, as if they were sitting in the office with you.

Real Support: Unparalleled support is mandatory. With Carbon Copy Pro you get a team support list of 40 contacts and EVERYONE is highly motivated to help you reach the level of financial prosperity that you’re seeking, because we’re compensated extremely well in order to ensure that you do! If you do well, we do well.

Plans To Expand: Make sure that whichever company you partner with has room to expand. If it is already close to reaching full market penetration then eventually your competition will become too fierce. There will be too many fish in a small pond. Also, if you are marketing online, can your product be shipped worldwide? Many nutritional products suffer from a maze of complicated legalities in different regions which may prevent you building a global business (and they are also perishable).

Information products are not normally subject to the same restrictions and are thus much more suitable for global online marketing. So look at the products you are planning to market, ask yourself if they can be marketed globally, and find out if the company has plans to expand globally in the future.

The average person in the home business industry will typically try out 7 different business opportunities before finding the right one. This not only wastes time, effort and money but creates huge frustration both to the individual and everyone close to them.

If you choose your new business using the 7 key questions in this report as a template, you’ll be better able to make the right decision first time round and create the ideal foundation for your future success.

This concludes your 7-day bootcamp. If you have any questions, you know how to reach us…

Our only question to you is, “What are you waiting for?” Learn more about earning a multiple six-figure income from home with CarbonCopyPRO…

How To Create A Custom Facebook URL

Posted on November 7, 2010 at 7:31 AM Comments comments (0)

Hi,

I'm very fortuntate to have 91 members on my new Facebook fan page under a week of its creation. This now allows me to set up my own custom made Facebook URL. The link was not handy so I thought I would create a post for when you need the link.

When you create a Facebook fan page you need to havea minumum of  25 people to 'like' your page before you can request a specific URL that compliments your business name.

Keep this link handy, when you get to the stage where you have 25 people you can use this link to lock in your desired custom URL.

http/www.facebook.com/username

Let me know when you have just created your new business fan page and I will like your page to help you to get to 25 people as soon as possible.
